Voyages to Antiquity makes first UK call in its seven-year history
UK-based Voyages to Antiquity made its first call in the UK during the company's seven-year history when Aegean Odyssey arrived at Falmouth on Wednesday. The milestone comes ahead of the line’s first dedicated European programme that features no-fly cruising from the UK.

Aegean Odyssey arrived in Falmouth as part of its 24-day 'Grand European Voyage.' The ship will head to the Mediterranean before returning to the UK next year for the new 2017 programme featuring 17 itineraries, four ex-UK sailings and maiden visits to the Orkney and Shetland islands, Iceland and Olbia in Sardinia.

Voyages to Antiquity is offering savings of up to £1,600 per cabin plus a 10% discount for repeat cruisers on all 2017 bookings until the end of July 2016.

Travelers can save up to £800 per cabin on the 15-day ‘Iceland, Faroes and Shetland Islands’ cruise, which sails round-trip Tilbury and calls at Rosyth (Scotland), Kirkwall (Orkney Islands), Heimaey, Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri and Husavik (Iceland), Torshavn (Faroe Islands) and Lerwick (Shetland Islands).

The cruise is priced starting at £2,295 per person, based on a 29 June or 8 August departure in a standard inside cabin. The fare includes the approximately 10 shore excursions.

Savings up to £400 per cabin are available on the 16-day ‘England, Ireland and Scotland’ cruise, sailing from Tilbury with calls at Guernsey (Channel Islands), Falmouth, Isles of Scilly, Liverpool and Douglas on Isle of Man (England), Dublin (Ireland) for an overnight stay, Isle of Arran, Stornoway in the Hebrides, Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands, Scrabster and Oban (Scotland), before arriving in Greenock for a two-night hotel stay in Edinburgh before the flight home.

The cruise is priced from £2,495 per person, based on a 13 July departure in a standard inside cabin, including shore excursions.

Small ship ocean and river cruising are combined on select 2017 itineraries. In western France Aegean Odyssey will sail into the Gironde and Loire rivers and visit the famous chateaux country, while in England the ship will call at Falmouth to explore the West Country.

The line will carry speakers from the Ashmolean Museum, Wellcome Trust and Cambridge University, among others, throughout 2017. Notable speakers include BBC broadcaster Ernest Rea, astronomer and geologist Peter Cattermole and the newly appointed Sackler Keeper of Antiquities at the Ashmolean Museum, Dr. Paul Roberts.
