Cunard Line has released behind the scenes images and video of the aft lido sun deck being lifted into place on Queen Victoria, currently undergoing a £34m refit at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard.

The extended lounge space is one of many enhancements featured in the major refit which will also sees the ship gaining 43 Britannia Club balcony staterooms and dining plus a new Chart Room bar.

The vessel will be out of service from May 5 to June 4 for work that also entails refreshing all Britannia staterooms and redesigning the Grand Suites and Deck 8 aft Penthouse Suites.

The newly refurbished ship will return to Southampton before embarking on a maiden four night voyage, via Amsterdam and Bruges, before arriving back at Southampton.
