E! Entertainment Television is a wholly owned subsidiary of Comcast Corporation and is based in Los Angeles with an audience reach of 169m cable and satellite viewers globally.
'We have concluded our agreement with E! Entertainment Television to add its entertainment package to our MTN Worldwide TV service, which enhances our current lineup of worldwide programming from six major US and international networks,' said Brent Horwitz, svp, MTN cruise and ferry services.
'Paul Gauguin Cruises chose MTN Worldwide TV to provide our guests with news options that fit their personal preference and the addition of E! fits in nicely with the other programming,' said Bradford Smith, IT director for Paul Gauguin Cruises.
Since introducing MTN Worldwide TV earlier this year, the company reports more than 40 ships with over 32,000 passenger cabins under contract and says it is working to develop additional options such as foreign languages primarily spoken by crew.
MTN Worldwide TV uses three overlapping satellite beams to deliver programming from BBC World News, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News, Sky News and Sky Sports News to passengers cruising worldwide. MTN also provides special events broadcasts to the cruise industry.
Cruise lines subscribing to MTN Worldwide TV include Azamara Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, and Silversea Cruises.
