Grand Bahama Shipyard expects to complete work on 10 cruise vessels within the first quarter of 2017. The scope of works includes significant propulsion and technical systems overhauls, hull treatment, accommodations and public spaces upgrades and the addition of attractions.

First in the dock in January was Grand Celebration, managed by Cruise Management International, for a brief refit and upgrade to prior to its busy West Palm Beach to Freeport season.

Carnival Cruise Line will have docked four ships. Carnival Ecstasy in January and Carnival Sensation in February received the same major works including complete hull treatment, major steel and pipe replacement throughout multiple vessel systems, and overhauls of thrusters and stabilizers.

Carnival Sensation's work included an ABB/Carnival cyclo-converter project supported by the shipyard, which used the Manitowoc 18000 to lift the new ADG module for installation while the ship was alongside the North Beach Wharf.

While in Drydock 2 Carnival Dream received a new sea chest for the scrubbers, thrusters and stabilizers overhauls. The yard supported Carnival's hotel refurbishment team with interior structural modification works. The Manitowoc 18000 was used to lift the new ADG module for installation while the ship was alongside the North Beach Wharf.

Carnival Glory entered Drydock 2 in February to receive modifications to the scrubbers sea chest, installation of a new ADG module and the relevant structural reinforcements to support it and complete hull treatment. The yard provided support to Carnival with structural modifications to the pump room to include extensive steel work and GF+ Pipe supply and installation for the addition of the WaterWorks park and a module lift of the water park to Deck 10.

In late March Caribbean Princess is booked for Dock 2 where the new Princess Cruises livery will be painted on the bow.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings docked four ships in the first quarter. In January Oceania Cruises' Insignia visited Dock 1 for a quick inspection, followed by Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Sky in Dock 3 for works including UTM on pools structures and replacement of bakery equipment. The yard supported Rolls-Royce on controllable pitch propellers overhaul and replacement of the side thrusters. Further, the yard constructed and maintained a complex scaffold for the atrium upgrades.

Norwegian Pearl spent a significant amount of time in Drydock 3 for extensive works in February, including complete hull treatment, the installation of new ballast water treatment system pipe lines, the overhaul of thrusters, stabilizers and Azipods and the replacement of propeller blades.

Cruise work beyond the first quarter at Grand Bahama Shipyard includes three Royal Caribbean International drydocks: Grandeur of the Seas in April and Serenade of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas in November.

NCLH plans an extensive docking for Norwegian Jade in Dock 3 and for Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Mariner, both in April.

Disney Fantasy is scheduled for Dock 2 in April. Carnival Breeze is due for work in April, too, and Carnival Elation in August and Carnival Conquest in October.

Princess will send Pacific Princess in May and Island Princess in November.

Holland America Line has booked Zuiderdam, Rotterdam and Nieuw Amsterdam for the fourth quarter.
