Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ luxury duo to undergo facelifts at Blohm+Voss

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ luxury duo to undergo facelifts at Blohm+Voss
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Europa and Europa 2 will undergo extensive renovations and technical upgrades in the coming weeks at Hamburg’s Blohm+Voss yard.

Europa 2 will be drydocked between September 13-27, followed by Europa September 27 until October 13, 2017.

The work to be carried out on board Europa 2 will include redesigning the Herrenzimmer on Deck 4: the popular gin bar will be given a new look and renamed Collins. The current Jazz Club will be renamed as Club 2.

The Belvedere on Deck 9 will be given a complete makeover: located at the bow of the ship, providing panoramic views in the direction of travel, the lounge is set to include access to the library and a coffee bar.

Projects planned for the Europa’s docking period include renovating and redesigning the spa area and equipping it with the latest treatment facilities. The 36 suites without verandas will be fitted with new bathrooms, and an Azipod drive-motor computer will be replaced.

After leaving Blohm+Voss, Europa 2 will set off on a five-day cruise to Scandinavia while Europa’s first cruise post makeover is a 12 day voyage along the coast of western Europe to Bilbao.
