Lloyd Werft preparing for Boudicca technical overhaul

Lloyd Werft preparing for Boudicca technical overhaul
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Boudicca will undergo a six day overhaul at Lloyd Werft next month.

The 28,551gt vessel is due to arrive at the Bremerhaven yard on November 5. Work will be mainly technical, reports senior project manager Carl Ratjen.

It is the fourth Fred Olsen ship to undergo technical overhaul at Lloyd Werft since 2011.

Black Watch visited the shipyard in 2011 and Braemar and Balmoral in 2012. Yard managing director Rüdiger Pallentin sees the latest visit as proof that the shipowner is well-satisfied with the previous work undertaken at Lloyd Werft.

Boudicca is well known in Bremerhaven. In 1982, as Royal Viking Sky, the ship was lengthened by 28mtr at Lloyd Werft in co-operation with Seebeck Werft. Since then, the 40 year old classic vessel changed her name ten times before joining Fred Olsen Cruise Lines in 2005.
