Pacific Pearl to gain interconnecting cabins, ice cream parlour

The 1,800-passenger ship is the original Ocean Village which joined the P&O Cruises Australia fleet in December 2010.

 

Sture Myrmell, vp hotel operations for Carnival Australia, said interconnecting cabins appeal to immediate and multigenerational families and will be especially popular during Pacific Pearl’s Christmas cruise and school holidays.

 

P&O Cruises Australia’s own chocolate hokey pokey will be a highlight of Pacific Pearl’s New Zealand Natural Ice Cream Parlour, which has already been installed in Pacific Dawn. 

 

Other improvements include new carpets throughout the ship and the refurbishment of mini-suites and balcony cabins and the Mix cocktail bar and The Orient pub.

 

Before sailing as Ocean Village, the ship operated as Arcadia. It entered service as Star Princess in 1989, after being designed for Sitmar Cruises as FairMajesty. Sitmar became part of Princess Cruises in 1988, while the vessel was under construction at Chantiers de l'Atlantique.
