Star Princess has returned to service following a two-week, multimillion-dollar renovation at Victoria Shipyards that added some of the latest Princess Cruises product innovations and enhancements.

The ship resumes a season of 15-day Hawaiian Island cruises round-trip from Los Angeles and Vancouver, BC, through April before summer in Alaska.

Added features include the Princess Luxury Bed, Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center and a revamped Sabatini’s.

Princess president Jan Swartz noted these enhancements continue the line's $450m multi-year ship renovation program, the Come Back New Promise.

Sabatini's Italian Trattoria now offers updated décor and a new menu developed in collaboration with Angelo Auriana, executive chef and partner at the Italian restaurants The Factory Kitchen and Officine BRERA in Los Angeles. Inspired by fresh Northern Italian flavors the menu features handmade pasta dishes from Auriana, as well as family recipes from Princess's Italian executive chefs.

The Princess Luxury Bed is available in every stateroom aboard Star Princess. It was developed in collaboration with board-certified sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus and HGTV designer Candice Olson.

Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center, for cruisers ages 3-17, was created in partnership with Discovery Consumer Products, the licensing arm of Discovery Communications, as part of the line’s Discovery at Sea program. Catering to specific age groups, there are three center themes where kids and teens can make new friends and participate in activities designed to help them discover, play, create and huddle.

Other work on the 2002-built Star Princess entailed aesthetic enhancements to provide an upgraded retail experience, such as a branded Effy Fine Jewelry boutique and a modern Fragrance & Cosmetic shop. New products include a fresh collection of Princess and Under Armour branded athletic wear and Princess logo apparel, featured in a newly designed Logo shop.

The Lotus Spa & Fitness Center were upgraded and added the latest fitness equipment. The casino's machines and tables were reconfigured, and the area was recarpeted.

Further upgrades of carpet and upholstery were made throughout.
