The 2,850-passenger Celebrity Solstice, which is making her fifth extended season Down Under, arrived in Sydney today after a multi-million dollar makeover in Singapore.

The 122,000gt Solstice was the first international cruise ship to arrive in Sydney for the 2016/17 wave season on October 8.

She immediately sailed to Singapore via Brisbane, Airlie Beach, Cairns, Darwin and Bali, where she entered the Sembcorp Marine Shipyard for the A$11.25m ‘revitalisation’ which has included the first Tiffany & Co store at sea.

Alcove-style cabanas now border a new real grass lawn and a large movie screen has been added to The Lawn Club where passengers are served food that is shown in the movies.

Adam Armstrong, md for RCL Cruises Australia and New Zealand, hosted a lunch at The Lawn Club today for Sydney media representatives who enjoyed a sampling of food from the ship’s new authentic Japanese restaurant, Sushi on Five, with tumblers of sake.

‘Throughout the ship, guests will find new features and fresh touches that have been carefully designed with luxurious, modern travel in mind,’ Armstrong said.

Celebrity Solstice will be homeported in Sydney until April 20, 2017. The ship is the sole operator of Celebrity Cruises’ 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons in Australia.
