Sapphire Princess will offer scenic cruising of Antarctica during its 2025/26 South America season
In promoting its 2025/26 South America season, Princess Cruises highlighted the opportunity for travelers to access Antarctica with 'affordable rates.'

According to the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators, a record 105,331 people visited Antarctica last season. Sapphire Princess is on IAATO's approved 'cruise only' operator list — the ship is too big to make landings. Princess Cruises said Sapphire takes more passengers to Antarctica than any other ship IAATO-listed vessel.

'Our upcoming 2025/26 cruise season to South America and Antarctica promises remarkable journeys with incredible opportunities to glide through glacial waters of Antarctica to enjoy views of Elephant Island, Antarctic Sound and Gerlache Strait — all unforgettable sites to behold,' said Terry Thornton, chief commercial officer, Princess Cruises.

Seven cruises

The line's South America/Antarctica season, November 2025 to January 2026, consists of seven cruises to 20 destinations in 11 countries.

Seventeen-day Antarctica adventure cruises feature four days of exploration in the Antarctic region and one festive voyage with Christmas and New Year’s Day at sea, and an overnight stay in Buenos Aires.

A 16-day Cape Horn and Strait of Magellan journey also overnights in Buenos Aires and offers scenic cruising past the Amalia Glacier.

The 53-day 'Ultimate Antarctica & South America Adventure,' connecting Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, includes overnights at Callao (for Lima) and Buenos Aires.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites and cruise-tours

The schedule provides opportunities to explore 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Historic Center of Lima, Lines and Geoglyphs of Nasca and Pampas de Jumana (from Pisco, Peru), Church of Atlántida, the work of engineer Eladio Dieste (from Montevideo), Peninsula Valdés Patagonian Nature Reserve (Puerto Madryn, Argentina) and the Historic Quarter of the Seaport City of Valparaiso (from San Antonio, Chile).

And Princess offers two add-on land tours, 'Iguazú Falls Adventure' plus a visit Rio de Janeiro and 'Machu Picchu Explorer with Cusco. Iguazú Falls and Machu Picchu are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
