North from Continental Europe, at the northern Gulf of Bothnia, lies three unique and characteristic port destinations Kalajoki, Raahe, and Oulu. These ports all serve as busy industrial ports but also offer an excellent stop for cruise ships travelling in the northern seas around the year. The Gulf of Bothnia is a short cruise away from the Baltic Sea, offering both Finnish and Swedish coastlines to your service.
Arctic Cruise Ports destinations are clean, fresh, and safe. Everything the visitor is hoping for these days. These small authentic get always offer both cultural and adventurous activities to meet the needs of every traveller. Towns are arctic and spacious, something else for visitors travelling from the busy centers and big cities.
The southernmost of our destinations is Kalajoki offering experiences in nature, culture, and extreme sports. Kalajoki is Finland’s most versatile coastal destination, combining both Nordic exoticism and the largest sand dune area in the Finnish coastline. The large sand dunes offer a playground for sports both in summer and in winter.
North from Kalajoki is situated Raahe. Naturally beautiful and full of history. The Old Raahe is one of Finland’s best-preserved concentration of nineteenth-century wooden houses. The sea and archipelago, vibrant cultural life, and inviting museums make for a highly enjoyable stay in this historical town. The town’s main sources of livelihood have been commercial seafaring and shipbuilding since the 17th century.
In the north, only 250km down from Arctic Circle, is the Capital of Northern Scandinavia, Oulu. This port town consists of the cultural life of a modern business city. Oulu is called the Silicon Valley of the north as the city is a nationwide center of excellence focused on telecommunications, electronics, software, medical technology, and biotechnology. Cruise ships have visited Oulu for a decade, and it´s well known for its excellent guides and shore services.
