Travel and New Connections

‘Travel is all about making new connections and sometimes we need to go “off the beaten path” to connect with new cultures and communities.’

Seatrade Cruise Global’s Professional Women in Cruise luncheon will allow you to do just that!

This year’s discussion will focus on boutique cruising and all the creative ways cruise lines and destinations are creating experiences allowing travelers to escape the masses and have intimate travel experiences with tailored shore excursions. Whether you are cruising the Mississippi, visiting the Galapagos, seeing the Pyramids along the Nile, or sailing from Budapest to Bucharest, everybody can learn something from these curated experiences to create more memorable travel moments.

Sit back and relax as the inspirational panel discusses the opportunities and challenges of being “off the beaten path” and explore how these experiences can be tailored to fit your organization. Not forgetting of course, you can use this special lunch as always, to network with the very best and brightest in the cruise industry!

The PWiC lunch is in partnership with WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association). A fantastic international networking organization whose mission is to attract and support women, at the management level, in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors.

Proceeds from the PWiC ticket sales go towards Seatrade Cruise’s fantastic sustainability partner Mercy Ships, who provide humanitarian aid through surgical care, medical training, and infrastructure development to the world's most vulnerable communities.

Anna Silva, co-President of the Florida Chapter WISTA says: “Happy 10th anniversary Professional Women in Cruise! While I’ve only been involved for the last 6 years, it is the highlight Seatrade for me, and a labor of love. Each year we try to give the audience something new, fun and thought-provoking. The topics may change but my goal is to always have the audience leaving having connected to the others in the room. You never know when you are going to ask/to be asked for a contact outside of your area of expertise and I believe PWiC is a fantastic way to build that network.”

Ten years of PWiC

Liz Gammon, Seatrade Cruise Expedition Cruise Ambassador formed the PWiC group in 2012 “The Professional Women in Cruise Group was created following a Seatrade Event in Hamburg when it suddenly occurred to me that most cruise executives and decision makers that I had met with on the exhibition floor were women! A group of about 20 women was formed soon after with a view to hosting a networking breakfast during Seatrade events – the emphasis back then was for networking and celebrating US as professional women in the cruise sector and it has gone from strength to strength ever since!”
