Additional experts join WTTC/Carnival Corp. COVID-19 science summit
Additional science and medical experts were announced for the July 28 COVID-19 Global Scientific Summit sponsored by the World Travel & Tourism Council and Carnival Corp. & plc.

Open to the public, the summit will share the latest scientific knowledge and evidence-based best practices related to the prevention, detection, treatment and mitigation of COVID-19.
It is arranged in a series of panels, each focusing on a critical area such as epidemiology, transmission, screening/testing, therapeutics and risk mitigation.
Newly announced experts
Just announced as speakers are Julio Frenk, MD, MPH, PhD, president of the University of Miami, professor of public health sciences, the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, and professor of health sector management and policy, the Patti and Allan Herbert School of Business.
Adolfo Garcia-Sastre, PhD, is director, Global Health & Emerging Pathogens Institute, The Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai, and professor of microbiology and medicine, infectious disease.
Steven Gordon, MD, is chairman, Department of Infectious Disease, Cleveland Clinic Respiratory Institute, and professor of medicine, The Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western University.
William Morice, II, MD., PhD. is chair, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic, president, Mayo Clinic Laboratories, and professor of laboratory medicine and pathology.
Jewel Mullen, MD, MPH, is associate dean for health equity, University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School.
And Vivek Murthy, MD, MBA, is author, former vice admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and 19th surgeon general of the United States.
First announced for July 23, the summit is going to take place July 28, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT/14:00 to 17:30 UTC.
