This brings the total to 20 so far.
The 10 confirmed today, among the second set of samples that have completed testing, include four Japanese passengers, one from Taiwan, two Americans, two Canadians and one from New Zealand.
Heading to hospitals ashore
Princess Cruises said local public health authorities will be disembarking those people for transport to local hospitals immediately.
The earlier 10 confirmed cases included two Australian passengers, three Japanese passengers, three passengers from Hong Kong and one from the US, in addition to one Filipino crew member.
Quarantine
The Feb. 4 and Feb. 12 sailings from Yokohama were canceled already, and the ship is being quarantined at least 14 days, as required by the Japan Ministry of Health.
Diamond Princess was carrying 2,666 passengers and 1,045 crew from a range of nationalities when it arrived at Yokohama on Monday. About half the passengers are from Japan.
Local health authorities have been on board conducting screenings after a man on the prior sailing was later diagnosed with coronavirus at a Hong Kong hospital.
