Family fun, all-day dining in Icon of the Seas' Surfside

Located all the way aft on Icon of the Seas, Surfside is remiscent of the Boardwalk on Oasis-class ships but way more developed.

It's highlighted in the latest 'Making An Icon' video:

Surfside connects all the family offerings — kids' club Adventure Ocean and Social020 for teens included — and among the three entrances is a slide from Central Park.

Like a surfer town

'Must-haves' were connectivity to the water and a variety of food and beverages, according to RCI's Emily Ritter, senior product owner, product development

'It's colorful, vibrant, bright. It's reminiscent of a surfer town,' Ritter said. 'That evokes a lot of fun and imagination but it also evokes this place where you can just relax, hang out and be close to water.'

Three water experiences

There are three water experiences: Splashaway Bay with its kiddie waterslides and water features, Baby Bay for the little ones and Water's Edge, a pool pressed against the glass at the back of the ship. Popular features brought from the Oasis class include the carousel, which will be a little more whimsical on Icon. The arcade will offer more than 30 games.

All-day dining and a family bar

Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner are available. Surfside Bites is a grab 'n' go spot, Surfside Eatery provides a (Windjammer-style) family buffet and new speciality restaurant Pier 7 is a casual, boardwalk eatery.

The Lemon Post bar is family-oriented, with tropical cocktails, lemonades and mocktails.

Family accommodations

Steps away from Surfside are new rooms for families of three, four, five, six and more. Categories include Family Infinite Balcony, Balcony, Interior and Suite.

Surfside Family Suite

In many, kids have their own areas. For example, the Surfside Family Suite, new to Icon, has a kids' nook that can be closed off to give parents privacy. And the Family Infinite Balcony is elongated and has a split bath; kids get their own room and the infinite balcony can convert into a little cinema with its own projector.

The Ultimate Family Townhouse is a three-story accommodation sleeping up to eight. It has a slide, a cinema with karoke, its own patio with table tennis and direct access to Surfside.
