Several new experiences for kids will appear onboard MSC World Europa when it enters operation in December, with the ship housing the largest children’s area in the MSC Cruises fleet.

Spanning 766m2, it has seven distinct spaces dedicated to different ages from babies through to 17 years old.

Remarked Matteo Mancini, kids’ entertainment manager, MSC Cruises, ‘We have invested heavily in the entertainment offering for our younger guests, and we know they value the latest technology, trends and experiences.

‘We have worked to introduce real innovations in both the design of the facilities as well as the development of an incredible programme of activities, all carefully planned to ensure that the differing needs of all age groups are met - from our youngest guests through to teenagers.’

Blending technology and social media

Mancini went on to add that it has created experiences that make the most of technology and social media combined, ‘More than 350,000 young people have travelled with us over the years and we have listened to their feedback. MSC World Europa reflects these learnings and we have been inspired to create experiences that blend technology and social media with activity and sport to create fresh and new entertainment for the kids who sail with us.'

New experiences

Among the experiences new to MSC Cruises is ‘3,2,1 Knock,’ a family gameshow inspired by Asia that brings K-pop, Japanese games and tests. Plus, an interactive and digital gameshow called ‘Beat the Music’ can be played by app for the first time and involves parents working to identify the latest music their kids are listening to and vice versa.

A sports programme for kids and teens offering football, basketball, zorb ball and, for the first time on board, pickleball and hoverboards has been introduced in the form of ‘Z Active,’ while ‘Drone Acedemy 2.0’ consists of a high-tech, high-energy drone relay race where players navigate 15 obstacles in the quickest time possible. Point of view (POV) cameras and virtual reality (VR) are involved, and the game further comes to life at night with fluo effects and glowing drones.

The ‘LEGO Celebration Room’ results from a long-standing partnership between LEGO Group and MSC Cruises and marks 90 years of LEGO. It is suitable for youngsters of all ages.
