MSC Cruises announced a new entertainment partnership with Guinness World Records, the renowned officials for record-breaking titles worldwide.

Onboard guests can participate in activities during the day and audition for an evening show where finalists can demonstrate their talents and attempt to break Guinness World Records to become a record holder.

The events are now available on board MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa and will be on the line’s new MSC Euribia, when she welcomes guests from June for her inaugural season in Northern Europe.

Immersive entertainment

The new partnership is part of MSC Cruises’ broader strategy to elevate further its onboard immersive entertainment programmes for guests.

Steve Leatham, global head of entertainment, MSC Cruises, said, ‘We’re delighted to join forces with Guinness World Records. We’re always on the hunt for new and engaging concepts for our guests. This partnership provides unique and enriching entertainment at the highest level, and we look forward to continuing to offer a dynamic range of exciting experiences for guests of all ages.’

Marco Frigatti, SVP consultancy at Guinness World Records, added, ‘There’s no better way to bring the magic of Guinness World Records to life than to host a live show like this.’

Fun and games

Some of the Guinness World Records highlights include: The Records Show, an onboard version of the Guinness World Records TV show consisting of a live stage show that features a range of record-breaking activities from audience participation, individual guests, and the ship’s crew; children’s programmes will include entertaining challenges, quizzes and educational shows; Guinness World Records Facts will invite guests for a trivia challenge to test their knowledge on Guinness World Records and a family quiz using live challenges and Guinness World Records video races to see if audiences can select the winner.

Any new records will be verified by a Guinness World Records official adjudicator and awarded a Guinness World Records certificate.
