Copenhagen Conference brings sustainability to the Baltics

The Cruise Baltic Sustainability Report 2019 - a follow-up to the Cruise Baltic Sustainability Manifesto signed by Cruise Baltic and 29 destinations in May 2019 in Copenhagen, which aims to make cruising sustainable in 2030 - shows the environmental improvements already made in the region. 

‘In May 2019, we all returned home from the Baltic Sustainable Cruise Conference in Copenhagen where the Manifesto was signed to execute the goals we set together’, says Claus Bødker, director of Cruise Baltic. ‘A year later, the Cruise Baltic Sustainability Report shows that the Manifesto makes a sustained difference and that we together take major steps towards a more sustainable future. 

‘It is fantastic to experience such great motivation and not least initiatives creating sustainable changes across the entire industry’, concludes Bødker.

Recycling widely used

Cruise Baltic, which has 30 ports in its network of partner destinations, used recycled and reused materials for its Cruise Baltic booth at Seatrade Europe in 2019 and in February, announced that the network had become completely paperless, with the only printed material being business cards made from 100% recycled t-shirt offcuts.
