Crystal Serenity skipping Bimini again on COVID precaution

Crystal Cruises said it made the decision after consulting with the Bahamas minister of health.

Crystal Serenity will be dropping the July 11 call and spend the day at sea instead.

Option to embark in Nassau or take a future cruise

Passengers and travel partners were being notified, with those scheduled to embark at Bimini being offered the option to start the cruise in Nassau or to take a future sailing.

'Although mandatory vaccinations are part of our comprehensive Crystal Clean+ protocols developed to address COVID-19, we believe that this is the most prudent decision for our Crystal family and the citizens of Bimini as it is important to continue to work together to reduce the spread of this disease,' Crystal said in a statement.

Resorts World facilitates vaccination at PortMiami

Crystal added that Resorts World Bimini, in partnership with the Bahamas minister of health, is currently arranging transportation to the PortMiami early next week to provide vaccines to all citizens of Bimini who would like to be vaccinated.

Resorts World Bimini is operated by the Genting Group.

Crystal Serenity embarked July 3 on the first of a series of all-Bahamas cruises set to stretch through November.
