Further expansion at Vikand with senior level appointments

Paul Morgan has been promoted to VP of client engagement where he will take on the responsibility of managing and supervising all Vokand’s key client touch points in the cruise segment.

Morgan will also continue to oversee quality assurance and public health in cruise which has finally re-emerged from the restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He will be supported by Agnes Mathiesen and Russ Holmes as directors of client engagement, and David Best as director of public health.

Larsen promotion

Morgan will report into Bo Larsen who joined Vikand last year as VP and is now promoted to becomes SVP commercial partnerships where he will consolidate the commercial activities, client engagement and marketing for all maritime segments.

Larsen’s team is strengthened with the appointment of Chloe Hekmati as director of commercial partnerships in the yacht and commercial shipping space where she will be responsible for Vikand’s total healthcare solution in these two segments. Hekmati brings with her 15 years’ of experience in the maritime industry, most recently with satellite connectivity supplier Speedcast where she managed sales.

Mattias Hallberg will transition to director of technical solutions overseeing Vikand’s clients of its air purification system in all maritime segments.

Medical side

On the medical side Dr. Sebastian Kalwij becomes Vikand’s newest medical director joining Dr. Ed Dees and Dr. John Howe. Kalwij has 15 years’ experience as a ship’s doctor and most recently has been in a private practice group based in London.

Dr. Karl Bergsten will transition to associated chief medical officer, working with Dr. Bill Heymann, chief medical officer, to support Vikand’s medical operations, quality assurance program and to manage various healthcare projects.

Seafarers' health and safety

‘The ‘S’ in ESG needs more focus so that we concentrate on the total environment of our seafarers and how we can improve their working conditions with regards to their health, safety, living conditions, nutrition, and rest periods when at sea.

‘The industry needs to join forces to achieve a total human sustainability solution for our hardworking crews who will repay that commitment with efficiency and hard work.’
