From October, pre-departure testing has been removed but local guidance will still apply
Marella Cruises has relaxed its travel testing policy and removed all pre-cruise testing for international sailings from October.

However, it will continue to follow local guidance accordingly.

Commented Chris Hackney, MD cruise, TUI UK & Ireland, As always, our customers are our number one priority, and the relaxation of these rules means our guests can enjoy a simpler process pre-travel, without having to spend any additional costs.

‘We look forward to continuing to welcome both new and existing customers onboard our ships for our winter 2022 and summer 2023 itineraries.’

Exceptions apply

Some exceptions still apply with all Marella Cruise passengers aged two years old and above sailing from Corfu required to have an antigen test the day before boarding the ship until informed otherwise.

Under Greek law, all cruise passengers must be tested by a medical professional at the port terminal before boarding. The additional pre-travel test is therefore in place to minimise the risk of testing positive on arrival and having to quarantine in Greece.

The test must be purchased specifically for the purpose of travel and a certificate of test status provided, which passengers will need to show when arriving at the ship to check-in.
