PortMiami is preparing for possible sustained winds of 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph generated from Tropical Storm Fred.

This follows the Coast Guard captain of the port's declaration of Port Condition Whiskey from noon Wednesday.

Higher sustained winds between 39 and 54 mph are possible, the bulletin added.

Facilities are currently open to all commercial traffic and all transfer operations may continue while Whiskey remains in effect.

'Disorganized Fred'

Currently a tropical depression, 'disorganized Fred' was moving between eastern Cuba and the southeastern Bahamas Thursday morning, with heavy rains continuing across portions of Hispaniola, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
