Health and hygiene measures

The Port of Vigo plans on limiting capacity, introducing the separation of entry and exit flows, separating groups of guards during shifts, temperature checks, enhancing ventilation and preparing CO2 concentration measurement sensors, ahead of the first cruise ship stopover.

In addition to state health protocols, the port also intends to provide shoe disinfectant mats, hand sanitiser gel and tray cleaning.

Selected by the Spanish State Port Authorities for its 4.0 Fund, Vigo port will work alongside GTG ingenieros and Point Medio Ambiente on its R+D+I project, which nvolves introducing equipment with forced ventilation, HEPA filter, UV-C light, and bipolar ioniser, thermographic cameras, and a tunnel enabling disinfection of luggage and personal belongings on passengers’ entry and exit.
