Guatemala is known as the "Land of Eternal Spring" due to its implausible climate, beautiful tropical rainforest, and its legendary spirit of the Mayan civilization. Rich in history and culture, the country is in the heart of America, with a population of 17 million inhabitants; Guatemala's unique culture is a combination of 22 Mayan ethnicities, Ladinos and Garifuna. The official language is Spanish, and 23 others are also spoken, including 21 Mayans, one Garifuna, and one Xinca.

With access to both oceans – Atlantic and Pacific-, Guatemala's Port System is integrated by 3 multi-purpose commercial ports. Two of those ports – Puerto Santo Tomas d Castilla & Puerto Quetzal – have specialized cruise terminals, facilities, certification, and conditions to offer safe and efficient port services for tourist reception. Security coordination and monitors are provided for tourists at the terminals, tourist destination, and main road through INGUAT tourist assistance program PROATUR, available 24 hours/7 days a week. This program helps and aids in case of any emergencies.

A tourist on a ship that docks at the Atlantic or Pacific may take short trips to visit the country's richness at its different destinations where they will find Sites declared Heritage of Humanity, landscapes that are part of the experience. During the journey, enjoy local handicrafts, famous textiles, gourmet coffee, award-winning rum, jade jewelry, typical food, marimba, and especially its people's warmth.

The Guatemala Tourism Board – INGUAT provides coordination and security monitoring inside the cruise terminal, tourism destination, and highways. The service includes pre-requested escort tours. INGUAT's Tourism Assistance program provides 24/7 assistance.

The Guatemala National Port System has modern infrastructure which allows access to various types of embarkations with two specialized and certified terminals that services and are prepared to receive tourism during the whole year.
