A-ROSA, Celebrity team on 'River meets the sea' agent events

Under the slogan of 'Fluß meets Meer' (German for 'River meets the sea'), A-ROSA Flussschiff and Celebrity Cruises have teamed up for a new road show campaign targeting Germans. In other news, Portugal's Douro River is joining A'Rosa's destinations.

Seminars focus on Douro, Celebrity Edge

Twelve breakfast seminars are going to be held throughout Germany from Sept. 20 to Oct. 26, focusing on A-ROSA's new Douro cruise program starting next year as well as Celebrity's 2019/20 itineraries and Celebrity Edge.

The first seminar will take place on Sept. 20 in Mainz and the last on Oct. 26 in Koblenz. Further road show breakfasts are planned at Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Cologne, Munich, Essen, Bremen, Braunschweig, Essen and Heilbronn. Three breakfasts are already booked up, showing there's huge interest among German travel agents.

A-ROSA will add the Douro to its destinations next year, deploying a tailored 80-metre river vessel for 126 passengers which is under construction in Portugal. Twenty-eight weeklong cruises from Porto will operate from May until November. Destinations will be Pinhao, Vega Terron, Barca d'Alva, Regua und Entre-os-Rios.

Portugal gains popularity

Jörg Eichler, managing director of A-ROSA Flussschiff, earlier this year called Portugal a 'safe and exciting destination which has gained increasing popularity among German travelers in recent years.'

A-ROSA also added a four-day, Lisbon-based post-cruise program to its Douro itineraries with excursions to nearby sights such as Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. For these shore programs, A-ROSA has teamed up with Olimar Reisen, a Cologne-based tour operator specializing in Portugal.
