Celebrity sponsors Lincoln Center outdoor summer events

Celebrity Cruises partnered with New York City's Lincoln Center to sponsor a pair of popular outdoor events: A Midsummer Night Swing and Lincoln Center Out of Doors.

Celebrity has outfitted a booth and a massive tent, both evoking the Lawn Club on the Solstice-class ships. At the booth, where visitors enter the Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center, there is artificial turf and a mini-croquet court. Information about Celebrity is available and visitors can register to win a cruise.

On one side of the venue, Celebrity created a a spacious 'Modern Luxury Lounge' for VIP guests, The shaded area is outfitted with blue carpet, tiny blue lights, displays, lounge areas and a bar.

A highlight is the giant, over-sized Adirondack chair where visitors can sit for a photo of themselves with Lincoln Center as the backdrop.

A Midsummer Night Swing runs to July 12 at Damrosch Park and offers a range of events and styles, all including dance lessons. Among the highlights are salsa legend Willie Rosario and an all-star band featuring Wayne Toups, Steve Riley and Wilson Savoy. Evoking a '70s mood, The First Ladies of Disco features Martha Wash (The Weather Girls), Linda Clifford and former Chic singers Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin.

Lincoln Center Out of Doors brings three weeks of music, dance and spoken word events to the plazas of Lincoln Center. The free series takes place July 24 to Aug. 11.

Celebrity's Michael Daniels, regional marketing manager, said the line is always seeking inventive ways to showcase its 'Modern Luxury' offering by particularly highlighting entertainment, culinary excellence and stellar experiences.
