Cruise Down Under heads to Perth for 2014 conference

Princess Cruises’ Crystal Morgan, Colleen Crisp from Fred Olsen Cruise Line and Steven Young from Carnival UK and a number of domestic cruise line executives will be providing insights into trends and opportunities for future expansion of regional destinations at the  2014 Cruise Down Under Conference, which opened in Perth last night.

120 delegates are participating in the industry event, titled ‘Beyond Gateway Ports – Navigating New Destinations’.

Tammy Marshall, from Carnival Australia, will talk about the new focus in domestic cruising and Sean Treacy, from RCL Cruises, will share insights into big ship cruising in and around Australia.

The conference, sponsored by Tourism Western Australia, Fremantle Ports, Fremantle City and Experience Perth will include a range of plenary sessions as well as workshops and industry gatherings.

Areas of discussion will include the development of itineraries, shore excursion programs, air and hotel contracts, pre and post cruise opportunities, infrastructure and economic benefits. There will be a focus on developing regional destinations.
