Today, the April 4, 2023 crossing opens for booking, while the Oct. 15, 2022 departure has limited space remaining.

During both crossings, HAL plans memorable experiences that will weave the company's history into the menus and cocktails, activities, music by guest artists, special guest speakers and an Olympic-style event with classic cruise sporting activities and games.

'Holland America Line has touched the lives of millions of people throughout the years — whether by bringing them to a new life in America or providing a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. We have some really special experiences planned over the next several months to honor our heritage,' HAL President Gus Antorcha said.

Oct. 15 crossing and New York performance

Rotterdam VII will depart Rotterdam exactly 150 years to the date of the departure of Rotterdam I's maiden voyage, which took place before the company was incorporated. The crossing will recreate that first sailing, visiting Plymouth, England, and Le Havre, France, before crossing to New York City for a rare overnight call. The voyage continues on to Fort Lauderdale, making a 15-night cruise.

A special shipboard ceremony in New York on Oct. 26 features what the line said will be a 'memorable' stage performance.

April 4 crossing and Rotterdam event

Departing Fort Lauderdale, Rotterdam heads to New York for an overnight call before a leisurely eight-day crossing to Plymouth and Dover before arriving April 18 — the 150th anniversary — at Rotterdam for an overnight full of festivities. This voyage lasts 16 nights.

For the Rotterdam arrival, the ship will get a grand welcome to the city of the company's founding, and an evening event will take place onboard.

Additional anniversary themed cruises

The anniversary year will include specially marketed cruises with unique ports relevant to HAL's history. These sailings will include special programming. Dates are to be announced in the coming months.

Limited-edition, specially designed 150th anniversary retail items will be available in the shipboard shops.
