Adventures by Disney expanded its expedition offering to the Arctic, with nine-night Svalbard voyages from Oslo in partnership with Ponant.

Two 2023 departures are scheduled, June 19 and July 10.

Le Boréal

The trips will operate on Le Boréal and are bookended with overnight stays at the Grand Hotel Oslo. Travelers fly to Longyearbyen to embark the ship and fly back to Oslo after the cruise portion.

Naturalists and Disney-trained Adventure Guides will accompany these sailings designed for the whole family. Former Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde will lead sketching sessions on one of the cruises.

Visits to 16 sites are planned with activities like Zodiac, glacier and hiking adventures, whale-watching and visits to small settlements like Smeerenburg and Ny-Ålesund.

Fares for adults start at $11,999 and for children (minimum age 8), at $10,799. Prices include the Oslo-Longyearbyen flights.

More Antarctica and Galápagos

Also in 2023, travelers will have more opportunities to explore Antarctica and the Galápagos Islands with added sailings to both destinations.

Bookings for the general public open Nov. 12.
