Australia’s Coral Expeditions opens UK office

Amy Sharpe, who has spent the past eight years working in the expedition cruising sector in the UK, has been appointed UK sales manager.

Sharpe will work closely with international sales manager Elizabeth Webb, who is responsible for expanding Coral Expeditions' global markets.

UK market already significant

‘Over the past 18 months, Coral Expeditions has experienced exponential growth with over A$25m in forward bookings,’ Webb said. ‘We have identified the UK as a key international market for FIT, group and charter expeditions and we are thrilled to have Amy on the ground to lead our sales efforts.

‘The UK market understands expedition cruising and is well suited to our Australian style of hospitality, with the market currently representing a significant proportion of our overall business.’

New ship appeal

Sharpe, who was recently on board the brand-new Coral Adventurer, said: ‘I know that this is a product discerning travellers will love due to its expedition capabilities and on-board comfort.’

The 120-passenger Coral Adventurer, the company’s fourth Australian-flagged vessel which was built in Vietnam and christened in Singapore on April 24, arrives in Darwin for the first time on May 12.

She will operate the Kimberley cruise season between Darwin and Broome until October.
