Cairns-based Coral Expeditions, which recommenced in Australia in October 2020, launched two extraordinary holiday season cruises aboard Coral Geographer.

A 14-night ‘To the Heart of the Reef & Outback’ all-inclusive cruise leaves Cairns for Brisbane on December 5.

Coral Geographer then makes a return 14-night ‘To the Heart of the Reef & Outback’ Christmas cruise from Brisbane to Cairns on December 20.

Special events

‘A Day in the Outback’ is one of the special events on both sailings, with passengers being flown in a private jet from the ship to Longreach, in the heart of Queensland. Here they will have a pub lunch and sundowners at the historic Rosebank Station homestead before jetting back to Coral Geographer.

‘Sailing Yacht to a Whitsunday Lunch’ is another special event on both voyages. Passengers will embark on a chartered yacht to the renowned Whitehaven Beach for Champagne and a deluxe seafood lunch before sailing back to Coral Geographer at sunset.

There will be two gala dinners with wine rated ‘exceptional’ in Langton’s Classification of fine Australian wines, inaugurated in 1990 and reviewed every five years.

Guided walks

Coral Geographer will visit many remote islands and reefs in the Great Barrier Reef marine park, where passengers will see dolphins, rays and turtles and there will be guided nature walks on Lizard and Magnetic islands.

The cost of each cruise is from A$11,990 per passenger twin-share.

Time to celebrate

‘The Christmas season is traditionally a time to celebrate with family and friends,’ Commercial Director Jeff Gillies said.

‘Our vision is to deliver an expedition occasion like no other,’ Gillies said.
