From 2025, HX will fly passengers directly into the capital, Nuuk, debuting three new ‘Grand Greenland’ itineraries aboard Fridtjof Nansen. The voyages will spend more time on the destination’s west coast and explore further north than ever before, including a voyage to Thule and Kane Basin.

‘Greenland's breathtaking landscapes and resilient people inspire us daily at HX. We are committed to contributing to Greenland's sustainable growth and development,’ said HX CEO Daniel Skjeldam, speaking alongside Air Greenland CEO Jacob Nitter Sørensen at a recent event in Nuuk, highlighting the collaboration's significance.

Pre- and post-cruise stays

Passengers will be able to fly on Air Greenland planes, which offer favourable departure and arrival times from convenient hubs like Copenhagen. Additionally, as part of the collaboration, travellers with HX will have the opportunity to participate in brand-new pre- and post-cruise programs. These include staying at waterfront lodges in Ilimanaq, which provide views of towering icebergs, as well as unique local activities, such as fishing trips in Nuuk, offering an authentic taste of Greenlandic culture.

Connectivity

The partnership aims to enhance connectivity between Greenland and the world, fostering economic and social value creation, ‘We are honoured to partner with Air Greenland in a way that upholds fairness and promotes sustainability, with the aim of setting a new standard for community-focused tourism,’ added Skjeldam.

He concluded, ‘Our mission is to ensure our guests leave with a deep appreciation and love for Greenland.'
