The incident, which led to a power outage, occurred as Maud made its way from Norway to the UK, resulting in cancellations.

In spring, the vessel will set sail from the British Isles before heading to the Arctic and then Antarctica for a series of new itineraries.

Refund or rebook

Customers booked to sail on Maud from February 3 to March 16 can experience the same northern lights itinerary on Spitsbergen, subject to availability, or rebook another voyage between January and April. This includes select Norway sailings with sister brand Hurtigruten, such as the ‘North Cape Express,’ a ‘classic round-trip voyage from Bergen,’ and sailings from Hamburg on Otto Sverdrup, with the option to retain their original cabin category choice where available.

Affected customers also have the option to receive a future cruise voucher to book a new expedition at a later date, or get a full refund.

British Isles

In the British Isles, passengers will explore diverse coastlines and remote islands. Scottish weather presenter Carol Kirkwood joins Maud’s second British Isles voyage, where she will engage passengers with insightful talks and Q&A sessions as the ship sails from Douglas to Dover.

Arctic

In July, the ship heads to the Arctic, offering passengers voyages to Greenland and Iceland. The itineraries bring passengers closer to the local communities and wilderness of the north.

Antarctica

October will see Maud venture south to Antarctica for a series of new, immersive expeditions combining the Patagonian fjords with the White Continent – the 17-day ‘Eternal Beauty of Chilean Patagonia and Antarctica’ itinerary among them. Additionally, Maud will embark on 23- and 24-day voyages that offer passengers the chance to explore South America, the Falkland Islands, and South Georgia in one trip.

Wave season

All Maud sailings from April are part of HXs current wave season offer, featuring free flights and an additional discount for members of the HX loyalty program. This campaign extends to HXs entire fleet, including all expeditions to Alaska, Galápagos, Northwest Passage, Antarctica, Greenland and Iceland.
