This will give young people the opportunity to experience the world famous wilderness destination in August at a greatly reduced cost, Aaron Russ, a director of the New Zealand family-owned small ship expedition cruise company and a True Young Explorer trustee, said.

Educate and inspire

‘True Young Explorer Scholarships were created to educate and inspire a league of young ambassadors, empowered to help raise the profile and protect some of the world’s most wild and remote regions and the unique flora and fauna inhabiting them for future generations,’ Russ said.

Applications close July 31

Applications from 18- to 30-year-olds close on July 31 and Russ wants to know how the experience will be both beneficial to the applicants and the Kimberley region.

The two voyages on offer are the August 11 sailing of Heritage Adventurer from Darwin to Broome and the August 21 return sailing from Broome to Darwin.

The advertised price is A$12,750 per person and the Scholarship price is A$4,245.
