Quark enlists photographer Paul Goldstein for Antarctic voyageQuark enlists photographer Paul Goldstein for Antarctic voyage
Paul Goldstein, the recipient of countless photography awards, will join passengers as they venture through the Antarctic.

Paul Goldstein, who has been awarded various accolades for wildlife photography, will join Quark’s ‘Snow Hill to the Peninsula: Shackleton’s Emperors’ expedition voyage, scheduled for October.
Goldstein is described by British newspaper The Sunday Times as ‘preposterously vivacious’ with ‘psychotic gusto,’ adding that ‘no-one will drag you up the photographic ladder quicker,’ and is the winner of the Black & White category in the Nature Photographer of the Year Awards 2024.
The photographer and guide has led over 30 exclusive photographic charters in his career.
Throughout the voyage, photographers of all abilities, from beginners to seasoned professionals, will have hands-on opportunities to learn from Goldstein in order to hone their skills.
Snow Hill Island
A highlight of the 18-day voyage is encountering the Emperor penguin colony at Snow Hill Island – home to over 4,000 breeding pairs of the species.
‘Of all the expeditions I’ve led over the past 23 years, my two Emperor quests with Quark remain the most memorable,’ Goldstein said.
‘After all these years in the industry, I can confidently say the Weddell Sea and Snow Hill Island is the most captivating wilderness I’ve encountered. Witnessing intricately sculpted icebergs adorned with chinstraps and Adélies is close to polar nirvana – but seeing Emperors on pristine ice is another level.
‘With endless daylight in this remote wilderness, I’m thrilled to join the Quark Expeditions team again to ensure every moment counts,’ he added.
The 18-day voyage gets underway on October 30 with a charter flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, where embarkation of Ultramarine commences.
