Quixote Expeditions is the Expedition Cruise Network's newest member where it will wave the flag for micro cruising.

‘The Expedition Cruise Network is the perfect forum for everyone in the expedition cruise industry to come together and share experiences,’ explained Laura Smith, Quixote’s co-founder, operations director and special projects expedition leader.

‘We at Quixote Expeditions are at the smaller end of the range offering micro cruises and this is a great place to showcase the uniqueness of micro cruising in Antarctic waters.’

She continued, ‘Many assume vessels of 100 passengers are the smallest possible and we’re here to help share with the world that there are even smaller options. We are excited to join the ECN community to help continue to educate on all the options available.’

An even more exclusive experience

With vessels Hans Hansson and Ocean Tramp, Quixote caters to just 12 passengers per sailing, providing an exclusive, flexible, and immersive experience focused on maximising time ashore.

Its fly-in, fly-out option across the Drake Passage eliminates the long sea journey, giving passengers more time to explore and photograph Antarctica’s landscapes and wildlife.

The operator adapts each itinerary based on daily conditions and sightings.

Micro cruising

It brings the total Expedition Cruise Network membership to 27. Akvile Marozaite, the network’s CEO, commented, ‘…Micro-cruising offers unrivalled access to some of the most remote regions of the world and Quixote Expeditions is a great addition to our ever-growing portfolio of micro expedition operators, adding an alternative option to visit places such as Antarctica onboard a small boat.’

There are now nearly 1,550 Expedition Cruise Network travel trade members including travel agents, tour operators, travel designers, product, marketing, and professionals supporting sales of expedition cruises.
