Crystal Endeavor has been called the most expensive passenger ship — per berth — ever built
Silversea Cruises said it isn't able to confirm reports that it's acquiring expedition ship Crystal Endeavor.

The 200-passenger, 20,449gt vessel has been off Gibraltar since late March, pending its sale.

There is understood to have been substantial interest in Crystal Endeavor, completed in 2021 at MV Werften.

Built at cost of $1.9m per berth

It has been called the most expensive passenger ship ever built at $1.9m per berth. The price was once announced at 350m, or about $385m at today's exchange rate.

But sources have said that even with strong interest, Endeavor would probably sell for less than the cost price.

Four Silversea expedition ships currently

Silversea currently operates four expedition vessels. It has just introduced Silver Wind (274 passengers) following its transformation into an ice-class vessel, joining sister Silver Cloud (254 passengers). There is also the smaller, purpose-built Silver Explorer (144 passengers) and, built in 2020, year-round Galápagos ship Silver Origin (100 passengers).
