‘This milestone is always an exciting moment as it represents another step forward in a new chapter of expedition cruising for Seabourn and our guests,’ Seabourn President Rick Meadows said.
Intense design phase
Marco Ghiglione, managing director of T. Mariotti, said the keel-laying followed an intense design phase, resulting from a well-established collaboration with a major partner like Seabourn.
Seabourn Venture is scheduled to debut in June 2021. A second Seabourn expedition vessel, to be named, is planned to launch in May 2022.
Two submarines
Both are being built to Polar Class 6 standard and will include an array of modern hardware and technology to extend their global deployment and capabilities. Plus, two custom-built submarines will be available to passengers.
Renowned hospitality designer Adam Tihany is creating the public areas and all categories of the ship’s 132 luxurious oceanfront veranda suites, including the first two story Grand Wintergarden Suite, as well as a bespoke furniture collection for both expedition vessels.
