New Guinea features in Coral Expeditions’ 'small islands of the world’ series
In 2021 Australia’s Coral Expeditions will present a new series of voyages called ‘small islands of the world.’

Group GM Mark Fifield said the island series started with a sold-out collection of voyages undertaken by Coral Geographer from Singapore via Sri Lanka and the Maldives to the islands off the edge of eastern Africa — Seychelles, Reunion, Madagascar and Zanzibar.

Launching now are the isles of the South Pacific (including Tahiti, the Marquesas and Pitcairn), Micronesia and New Guinea (Yap, Chuuk Lagoon, Palau), Japan (Saipan, Iwo Jima and the Ryukyu chain) and the Philippines (Catanduanes, Biri and Palaui).

Rarely seen places

‘We will step ashore in some of the most rarely seen places on earth,’ Fifield said. ‘These are special places that are difficult to reach except by hardy expedition ships.’

He said Coral Adventurer and Coral Geographer have been custom-built for such expeditions.

Coral Geographer

Coral Geographer will undertake the New Guinea and Micronesia itineraries, commencing in August 2021 and the South Pacific programme, commencing in October 2021.

Coral Adventurer

Coral Adventurer will undertake the sailings in Japan, commencing September 2021 and in the Philippines, commencing November 2021.
