Beyond Asia

The ship will help extend Dream Cruises' brand recognition to Chinese passengers in Shanghai and Tianjin this summer season, and then offer cruises in Australia and New Zealand from Sydney and Auckland. This is the first time Dream Cruises will sail outside of Asia and is the first step in a medium- and long-term strategy of offering a cruise alternative to the nearly 150m Asians who are flying and traveling outside Asia.

Newbuilds for north China

'Dream Cruises is the most recognized cruise brand in southern China due to World Dream being positioned in the dual homeports of Guangzhou and Hong Kong. However, as we all know, the eastern and north Chinese market is five times larger than the south and Dream Cruises,' Genting Hong Kong deputy CEO Hui Lim said. That's why, he added, Genting is building two 204,000gt Global-class shipsto be launched starting early 2021 in Shanghai and Tianjin to accommodate this market.

Production has started at MV Werften, the company’s shipyard cluster in Germany. These vessels will be highlighted by new facilities and advanced technological features. The second is scheduled for 2022 delivery.
