Former RINA general counsel joins MSC as chief legal officer

MSC Cruises appointed Massimiliano Mio, who most recently served as RINA's general counsel, as chief legal officer in the company's Geneva headquarters.

Mio has worked in international shipping law for 20 years, handling claims and disputes, insurance and liability issues, corporate legal affairs and various other maritime matters. At MSC, he reports to ceo Gianni Onorato.

Onorato cited Mio's expertise in maritime law and shipping matters as a valuable addition to the strengthening of MSC's senior executive team.

At RINA Mio led legal teams through numerous complex lawsuits and piloted a project to restructure the company's insurance program.
