Royal Caribbean Group on Thursday said demand remains strong, with bookings significantly outpacing 2019 levels.

When the company announced the easing of testing and vaccination protocols for most itineraries on Aug. 23, that resulted in an 'immediate positive impact on bookings for both 2022 and 2023 sailings.'

Since then, 'overall bookings have been significantly higher versus the same period in 2019. From a cumulative standpoint, 2023 remains booked within historical ranges at much higher rates.'

Prior update July 28

Royal Caribbean's bookings update, in a filing related to $2bn in private notes offerings, indicated continued momentum since its July earnings report.

On July 28 the company, for the first time in the pandemic, gave a specific earnings guidance range for a future quarter, predicting a return to profit in Q3 but a 'slight' net loss in second half of 2022 due to increases in fuel, interest and foreign exchange rates.

Then Royal Caribbean also said all 2023 quarters were booked within historical ranges at record pricing.
