British Virgin Islands vendor scores sweet success with Windstar Cruises
The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority shared the successful collaboration with local confectioner Jehree D. Clarke of JD’s Candies and Windstar Cruises.

Clarke recently became a vendor to the cruise line, delivering her signature coconut fudge when Wind Surf calls at the British Virgin Islands. The sweet treat will be added to the turndown service when the ship departs the BVI.
At Seatrade Cruise Global booth
'I want to take this opportunity to encourage entrepreneurs of any age to always ensure that your best work is presented to your clients,' Clarke said. 'This opportunity arose from the BVI Ports Authority taking JD’s Candies’ peppermint candies to Seatrade Cruise Global 2023 as a treat for people visiting their booth.
'I never expected a cruise line representative to be interested, but that just goes to show that you never know whose hands your product might reach,' she continued. 'Following up on potential opportunities is also very important, that is the real work, and this opportunity wouldn’t have been realised without efficient follow-up.'
Vibrant potential
British Virgin Islands Ports Authority Marketing Director Natasha Chalwell played a pivotal role in connecting JD's Candies with Windstar Cruises during last year's exhibition.
She said: 'This collaboration exemplifies the power of seizing opportunities at industry events. Connecting local businesses like JD's Candies with global partners such as Windstar Cruises is a testament to the vibrant potential within our community. We are proud to celebrate the success of JD's Candies and reaffirm our commitment at the BVIPA to provide platforms for local businesses to showcase the cultural and culinary richness of the British Virgin Islands within the global cruise industry.'
