Cunard’s third ‘Great Australian Culinary Voyage’ in 2025

Celebrity chef Matt Moran heads the lineup of presenters in Cunard’s third ‘Great Australian Culinary Voyage’ aboard Queen Elizabeth, departing Sydney on February 6, 2025.

The five-night return voyage will call at Hobart and sail around Tasmania’s Great Oyster Bay.

Moran is the owner of Aria Restaurant Sydney, Chiswick Woollahra and the waterfront Opera Bar overlooking the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Inaugural headliner

He was the headline chef during this year’s inaugural ‘Great Australian Culinary Voyage’ aboard Queen Elizabeth which sailed from Sydney on January 28 for Melbourne and Burnie.

‘We are so thrilled to be bringing back the legendary Matt Moran to headline Cunard’s ‘Great Australian Culinary Voyage’ once more,’ President Katie McAlister said.

‘It’s clear that our Australian guests love authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and entertainment from award-winning experts such as Matt Moran who, like us, celebrates the very best the country has on offer,’ McAlister said.

She said as well as enjoying Moran’s exclusive dishes in Queen Elizabeth’s premium dining venue The Verandah and the Britannia Restaurant and  Q&A sessions with food and wine experts on board, passengers will have the opportunity to explore Hobart’s renowned food and wine scene.

Incredible local produce

‘Cunard’s ‘Great Australian Culinary Voyage’ really brings to light the nation’s love affair with food, particularly our creative talent and incredible local produce which makes our country’s cuisine so unique,’ Moran said.

‘I’m excited to be partnering with Cunard again to create memorable dishes that will surprise and delight all foodies who want to sample incredible dining experiences in a truly beautiful setting on a luxurious Cunard Queen.’

Next year’s event

As reported here, the second ‘Great Australian Culinary Voyage’ aboard Queen Elizabeth will depart Melbourne on January 5, 2024 on a seven-night round cruise to Hobart and Adelaide.

Melbourne celebrity chef Karen Martini will headline the event next year.
