Love by Britto opens aboard Sun Princess

High-end specialty dining spot Love by Britto officially opened high aboard Sun Princess in a first collaboration between pop art icon Romero Britto and culinary master Rudi Sodamin.

Princess Cruises said this creates a feast for the eyes and the palate with a seven-course, prix fixe menu designed for a romantic dinner.

Located on Deck 17 aft, the 68-seat venue exclusive to Sun Princess displays Britto's splashy designs in a space with vast ocean views. The dinnerware features Britto's art, heart-folded napkins and cutlery with heart-shaped cut-outs.

Sodamin's menu sprinkles reputed aphrodisiacs throughout, starting with oysters with lemongrass kafir, mirin and gold flakes. Entrees feature heart-shaped presentations and include savory tuna and avocado, pomegranate, togarashi (a Japanese spice blend); cappuccino of wild mushroom soup; beet salad with figs and goat cheese; granita of pink Champagne and rose petals; lobster thermidor; and beef tenderloin with truffle jus.

Love Boat-style desserts include a heart-shaped chocolate lava cake, fresh berries and raspberry cream, plus petits fours.

$79 per person

Love by Britto carries a cover charge of $79 per person and can be booked pre-cruise in the Princess app.

Specialty cocktails

Specialty cocktails and an extensive wine list were crafted and selected to complement the menu and are available for an additional charge.

Examples include Strawberry Love Potion, made of Tequila Rose, Disaronno Amaretto, Chambord and strawberries; Expresso My Love, with Jameson, OM Chocolate Liqueur, Disaronno Amaretto, demerara, chocolate bitters, Espresso; and Britto Coupe, Grey Goose Strawberry and Lemongrass Vodka, Aperol, Cointreau, lime and strawberries.
