New Marella Voyager's F&B range to suit all tastes
Marella Cruises has spent more than 250 hours of recipe development to create menus featuring in the wide range of F&B venues on Marella Voyager, debuting this June.
Marella Voyager, currently sailing as Mein Schiff Herz for TUI Cruises, will join the UK based cruise line in April before undergoing a major refurbishment ahead of her Western Med debut this summer before moving to the Caribbean in winter.
Vegetarian and vegan dishes
To meet customer demand for the popularity of eating plant based, vegan and meat free options, more than 37 new vegetarian and vegan dishes will be available on-board. In total, 25% of the new menus will feature vegetarian dishes and 15% will account for vegan options, from speciality vegan ice-cream and lemon tarts, to a full vegan roasting joint derived from oats.
Voyager’s exclusive Silver Fork restaurant will offer a surprising twist on UK classics providing a sense of nostalgia, by elevating or de-constructing dishes to create a playful eating experience. It took 12 weeks to develop the restaurant concept and produce a menu featuring 25 dishes. All key British foods and flavours were considered, from chip shops, beef wellington, tomato soup, crumble or beach side snacks such as cockles and vinegar.
The Kitchens multi-venue concept
Another highlight of Voyager’s food and beverage offering is The Kitchens, a new concept which features eight different eateries bringing to life British classics and showcasing Indian, South Asian, Greek and Arabic flavours. The Kitchens will also include a bespoke dessert area.
Chris Hackney, managing director of cruise for TUI UK & I said: ‘With more than 150 bespoke dishes on offer, these newly developed menus feature concepts that will resonate with all. We’re bringing a twist to classic British food that we all know and love, while enticing passengers to branch out and sample something new.’
Mexican, Italian, pan-Asian
Eateries onboard feature Abuela’s open for lunch and dinner with a menu of classic Mexican options, like tacos and nachos, made with authentic ingredients; Nonna’s serving made-to-order pizza and pasta dishes for dinner and self-serve at lunchtime; Italian classic restaurant Vista nestled in Latitude 53 – the ship’s main restaurant, spread across two storeys; The Kitchens is a theatrical food hall housing eight eateries, each serving something different; Surf & Turf specialty restaurant and Kora La offering a selection of pan-Asian dishes.
Drinking venues
On the beverage front, The Summer House is located between Nonna’s and Abuela’s, serving up the likes of Mexican and Italian cocktails and cold beers. It’s got an indoor space with retractable roof, plus an open-air area.
The Arts House themed bar is unique to Marella Voyager. Guests can play shuffleboard or partake in arts and crafts in the daytime. Come evening, live singers and musicians take over entertainment duties.
Platter opens late afternoons and evenings with a menu designed for sharing – cruisers can pick cheese, meat or vegan boards, and there’s a wine and beer pairing list whilst The Exchange bar menu features cocktails with live music and immersive entertainment in the evenings, which for the latter, guests have to pay (a little) and pre-book if they want to drink here.
