Bevy of new bar, nightlife concepts on Icon of the Seas

Pods, where friends can lounge with a drink, play classic boardgames and kick back to live music, in the new Overlook Lounge inside AquaDome
Overlook pods in AquaDome, jazz in Central Park, dueling pianos and a bar with an outdoor terrace in Royal Promenade are among Icon of the Seas' new bar/nightlife spots.

They're part of the more than 40 venues to dine, sip, toast, lounge, hear live music and dance aboard the ship debuting in January 2024.

'From all-new venues and bolder favorites to new iconic drinks on every menu, zero-proof cocktails and twists to classics, there’s something for everyone to make the most of their nights out on Icon of the Seas,' said Linken D’Souza, VP food and beverage, Royal Caribbean International.

New AquaDome spots

AquaDome, which houses AquaTheater with its high-dive and aerial shows, will also offer The Overlook Lounge with its wraparound windows and pods where friends can lounge with a drink, play classic boardgames and kick back to live music. There will be great ocean views by day and, at night, the aqua shows are just steps away.

Also in AquaDome is the new Rye & Bean coffee bar serving everything from classic cups of joe to espresso cocktails. It’s a cozy morning hangout with endless ocean views by day and a buzzing bar with views of the AquaTheater shows by night.

Jazz and bubbles in Central Park

New in Central Park, Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues will invite music lovers to take it all in from indoors or as they stroll by the thousands of real plants during Jazz in the Park.

Bubbles is a new walkup champagne window in Central Park, where glasses of mimosas, prosecco, Bellini and bottles of bubbly are on tap morning, noon and night.

Returning favorites include a larger Trellis Bar in Central Park, with a new look and a debut menu of bites.

Dueling pianos and a terrace bar in Royal Promenade

In Royal Caribbean’s first dueling pianos bar, it’s the battle of the baby grands at the hands of two pianists who take song requests to bring high-energy performances of crowd-favorite hits to the Royal Promenade.

And the 1400 Lobby Bar — inspired by the history of shipbuilding — will offer a mix of daytime and evening sips developed with mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim, who's worked with James Beard Award-winning chefs, Bellagio and more. The venue is also the first to open the Royal Promenade to the outdoors with an ocean terrace.

Point & Feather, the neighborhood English pub on Royal Promenade, has a new open layout aboard Icon, games (and tournaments) of darts and sips joining the signature lineup of pints and the guitarist at the center of it all.

And Spotlight Karaoke is back, where aspiring singers take the stage in front of the crowd or in a private room with their friends and family.

Other returning favorites

Returning Royal Caribbean favorites include The Attic, inspired by Manhattan’s dark and intimate comedy clubs with adults-only live shows, and Music Hall, to rock out to the house tribute band. Boleros, the lively Latin dance club, is back, too.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade returns to serve game day bar fare and beers, with passengers' home teams playing on dozens of screens and arcade and tabletop games available.

And it wouldn't be a Royal Caribbean ship without the signature Schooner Bar, where pianists set the tone for pre-dinner drinks and nightcaps.

Icon of the Seas is scheduled to sail year-round weeklong eastern and western Caribbean cruises from PortMiami.
