Passengers eager for jewelry, says Effy ambassador as store opens on board MSC Virtuosa

Passengers are looking to ‘invest their money’ through jewelry purchases, with interest in Effy items flourishing in spite of the pandemic.

So said Lucian Alexandru, ambassador, Effy at the store's opening on board MSC Cruises’ MSC Virtuosa – the first vessel to resume sailing in the UK.

Passenger numbers swell at opening

Alexandru and his wife, Diana Alexandru, supervisor, Effy showcased jewelry items to a number of passengers at the store's May 25 opening, ‘Items here range from £95 to £150,000,’ explained Lucian, ‘there are 1,600 jewelry pieces on board the ship now.’

Effy stores can be found on all MSC Cruises’ vessels; a contract between the brand and the cruise line means an Effy store can be found on every MSC Cruise ship, with future vessels also set to feature Effy stores.  

Free gifts for those who attended

Passengers who attended the launch were rewarded with a free pendant.

MSC Virtuosa on its second week of four-night sailings from Southampton to Portland, UK; it will begin seven-night sailings in June.
