Passengers on board P&O Cruises' Britannia and Iona will be able to make entertainment and restaurant bookings via the the new My Holiday app.

Accessible on various mobile devices, it removes the need for queuing, ‘My Holiday app is the tool for guests to plan their activities from anywhere on the ship,’ said Paul Ludlow, president, P&O Cruises.

P&O Cruises’ UK sailings resume June 27 on Britannia, with new Excel-class ship Iona sailing from August 7. Both vessels embark on international cruises from September.

Health and safety measures

Britannia has received accreditation of its health and safety protocols by Bureau Veritas, with inspection of Iona soon to be undertaken. ‘Our passenger ship experts have been supporting P&O Cruises with the verification of health and wellbeing standards to enable a return to service in line with the UK Chamber of Shipping’s guidance and Bureau Veritas guidelines,’ said Matthieu de Tugny, president marine and offshore, Bureau Veritas. ‘The ship was exceptionally well prepared and we give full credit to the entire ship’s crew and management.’

New measures will also be in place from June 27 for passengers and crew on UK sailings, stipulating that only COVID-19-vaccinated UK residents will be allowed to board.

Complimentary COVID-19 testing will be carried out upon arrival at the terminal with boarding subject to achieving a negative test result.

All restaurants on board will feature table service.
