150+ cruise ships to air 2024 Eurovision Song Contest

BBC Studio’s coverage of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast live from Malmö Arena.to almost 180 cruise vessels globally.

Ships including from Carnival Corp & plc brands, Royal Caribbean Group brands and Viking Cruises will air the programme on May 11 at 8pm BST, which will be broadcast to over a quarter of a million cruise passengers via the BBC HD chennel.

BBC HD, which is available exclusively through BBC Studios distribution partner Anuvu, launched in 2017 and is produced specifically for the maritime market.

Zina Neophytou, SVP out of home & BBC News commercial development, BBC Studios said, ‘There has always been a strong demand for BBC content within the travel and hospitality sectors. BBC HD is now in its 8th year since launch, and I am delighted to be investing more into live events on BBC HD to bring audiences the best of real-life broadcasting whilst they cruise around the world…’ 

High-profile international horse racing events will also be aired on BBC HD, Neophytou added.
